The 4th of July is not only a day of celebration south of our non-walled border, but it also happens to be the day that we officially moved into our new 7th Ave facility.
April 1 this year we started to rebuild and reface what was once the Sound Kitchen and the transition, which seemed like an eternity, took on a whole new vibe and colour.
We had lots of great design advice from Creative Shift Studio’s Julie Miller. Julie brought many ideas and a mountain of positive energy to the project which reflects so well in the space that we now occupy.
There is so much to be said for the technical aspects of building sound studios. Obviously the goal is to provide a truly reliable mixing and recording environment and to that, kudos to our builders Doug McCann, Steve Sara, Bill Barker and crew as well as our technical guru, Fred Gilpen.
The net result of everyone’s efforts is that we truly feely we have taken a giant step forward. We have so much more space that now includes three studios, four offices, a kitchen, a dedicated day room for broadcast producers and a talent lounge complete with a coffee bar.
Also, losing 3 flights of stairs is often mentioned by our thankful clients.
We could not be happier with our new home. Did I not mention Meg’s wine fridge……
